  • Amazing Tour Guides

We will pick you up from your Sharm hotel at 6.15am and fly you to Cairo.

Day 1 - Cairo Tour

When you arrive in the amazing city of Cairo, your first stop will be the Great Pyramids of Giza.

Great Pyramids of Giza

The oldest of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Pyramids of Giza are the very reason alot of people come to Egypt, and seeing them close-up never disappoints.

Constructed over a 20 year period concluding around 2560BC, the pyramids of Cairo was the tallest man-made structure for over 3,800 years, to this day we still do not know for sure exactly how they were built, although there are many theories.

During the Cairo tour we will give you much more information on the amazing Pyramids of Giza, and any questions you may have will be gladly answered by your Egyptologist tour guide.

The Sphinx

After you have seen the pyramids of Cairo, your next stop will be the Sphinx. The Great Sphinx of Giza is a mythological creature, formed of a lions body and a human head.

Standing over 73metres long and 20metres high, the The Great Sphinx of Giza is the oldest known monumental sculpture, and is commonly believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom in the reign of the pharaoh Khafra.

During the tour of Cairo, you will find out how the nose of the Sphinx was broken off by Napololeon's soldiers, which can still be seen today.

Lunch on the Nile

Next up is a break for some lunch on the Nile, this will be a large buffet with foods to cater for all, before going to visit the world-renowned Museum of Egyptian Antiquities.

Museum of Egyptian Antiquities

Built in neo-classical style, designed by the French architect Marcel Dourgnon the museum exceed 120000 masterpieces ranges from pre-dynastic era, Pharaonic era to the Greco-roman period in Egypt and includes the treasures of the child King Tutankhamen, Pharaonic Gods and Goddess.

You may also visit the mummies room at the Egyptian Museum for a background about the Egyptian civilisation and the mummification art in ancient Egypt.

Shopping in the Bazaars of Cairo

After you have seen the pyramids, sphinx and other amazing sights that Cairo has to offer, you will then be given some time for shopping in the world famous bazaars of Cairo before retreating back to your B&B hotel for the night.

Day 2 - Luxor Tour

On day 2 you will be picked up from your hotel at 6.00am and flown to Luxor on a 50 minute flight.

Where as Cairo has the great pyramids, Luxor's most spectacular site is arguably the Valley of Kings. This is where for nearly 500 years the kings of the New Kingdom were buried in great tombs constructed especially for them along with their treasures to take with them to the after-life. The tombs were decorated with amazing scenes from Egyptian mythology and give clues to the beliefs and funerary rituals of the period.

As well as the Valley of the Kings, our excursion to Luxor by Plane will also take you to see spectacular temples such as the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut which is considered one of the "incomparable monuments of ancient Egypt".

Valley of the Kings

You will start the tour of Luxor by crossing over to the West Bank to visit the Valley of Kings where, for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, amazing tombs were constructed for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom of Egypt. The valley is known to contain 63 tombs and chambers ranging in size from a simple pit to a complex tomb with over 120 chambers.

Temple of Queen Hatshepsut

Widely considered one of the "incomparable monuments of ancient Egypt", the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is located beneath the cliffs at Deir el Bahari on the west bank of the Nile near the Valley of the Kings.

Colossi of Memnon andthe Alabaster Institute

The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III. For the past 3400 years they have stood in the Theban necropolis, across the River Nile from the modern city of Luxor. The 2 massive structures always leave our guests asking our tour guides the same question - how did they do it?

Then back to the East Bank to fresh up and have lunch and visit Luxor temple followed by a visit to the perfume shop.

After an amazing day in Luxor you will then be transferred to Luxor airport and fly back to Sharm where upon landing you will be met by your driver to be taken back to your hotel.

Cairo and Luxor Tour from Sharm - 2 Days by plane private trip
We booked the two day Cairo and luxor trip and paid the extra for a private guide. The trip was fantastic and the sights are amazing.
Our guides John in Luxor and Wil in Cairo were excellent. We were able to see all the sights at our own pace and as I had my 16 year old son with me we missed out the perfume factory which he was grateful for!
I would highly recommend Sharm Excursions and Mohammed is excellent and always answers his phone to deal with any queries.
Many thanks for two wonderful days.

Cairo and Luxor Tour from Sharm - 2 Days by plane private trip
We would like to thank all at Sharm Excursions for looking after us so well on our two-day excursion. Our first day was Luxor where we met up with John who is a fantastic and enthusiastic guide and teacher, and a thoroughly nice man. He looked after us from the moment we got off the plane to delivering us to the hotel, he also kept us alive by decanting his own water into our bottles during the hottest part of the day. You will definitely need a hat and plenty of water, about double what you think you need. You can always leave your “stock” in the car which is yours for the day. We learned such a lot from John, and he answered any questions we had for him from Egyptian history to how to go about tipping people and dealing with street-traders. The second day was Cairo, a much different style of guide this time, slightly more aloof. Cairo is a very busy city, and you do need a forceful guide to cut through the queues and traffic. We were given plenty of time to explore the museum and pyramids on our own and we do suggest you pay the extra to go inside the Great Pyramid. It is a very small and long passage, but well worth the effort and is adequately lit so you‘re never in darkness. Take plenty of money with you on both days because you will be taken to some nice shops where you can find souvenirs and gifts without having to deal with market-sellers. We have already recommended Sharm Excursions to several friends who are likely to visit Egypt in the next year or so. Much better value for money than the UK travel agency trips.

Cairo and Luxor Tour from Sharm - 2 Days by plane private trip
Booked a 2 day excursion to Cairo and Luxor before we left the UK by internet with www.Sharmexcusions.com Definitely worth every penny and much cheaper than booking at the resort when you get there. It was a fantastic experience and not one to be missed when going so far. We were taken to a few shopping outlets by our guides which seemed to be compulsory but did not detract from our experience. The guides were very willing to change the itinerary to suit your requirements. Unfortunately we were not as impressed with our excursion to the Sinai Desert and Bedouin Dinner as we found it was not value for money.

Hi,
we are a family of 5 (3 adults and 3 children). We will be in Sharm El Sheikh from the 16th August 2014.

Can you tell me how much a tour of cairo and luxor would cost for the 5 of us by private plane and what kind of itinerary it would include. We just want to see the pyramids and the tomb of Tutankhamen mainly.

Thanks

The best bit of a private tour is that you can arrange your trip as you want, just tell your guide what you would like to do!
