Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

We had a wonderful day in Cairo. Visited with my daughter. Very well organised trip. Good to have a female guide as in Sharm there are few female staff and she was very good at keeping the 'hustlers' at bay for us. My daughter and I also felt very safe with someone who knew the city so well. She was very knowledgeable and kept us all amused andinterested.
Full day - lots to see - the Egyptian museum was brilliant and set the context for the visit to the pyramids. We were not so keen on the perfume 'factory' visit as we were a small group and none of us wanted to buy perfume. Therefore we all felt a little pressure, especially as they had provided us with tea and a 'chat',in what is apparently their home.
Also, the trip on the boat to lunch was not optional - there was an expectation that we all took this and it cost extra - if you are aware before, as we were, then this is no trouble, but two of the group were not and felt a little unhappy that they had to pay an extra 100 Egyptian pounds (£10)each - this needs to be made more clear. The lunch was worth it - lots of choice and plenty of it.
There was a camel/horse ride (choice of animal) at the pyramids - this cost extra and again we felt that we had little choice but to except- the view was worth the extra cost but beware that they will ask for further tips at the end - you just need to be clear if you do not want to pay more.
We had the use of a small bus and driver all day so there was not too much walking, the bus was waiting on time for us after the end of each sightseeing part - we were were able to keep any heavy items and jackets on the bus without needing to carry them all day.
Finally, remember that the guide stands outside of Cairo airport as they are not permitted in to the arrivals lounge as other trip representatives are - so don't get worried, like us, that there was no-one to meet you! Just walk on further and they will be there.
If you are going to Egypt then seriously consider this trip - it was worth the money.

Ras Mohammed By Bus Snorkelling Trip

Booked 5 trips with sharm excursions and all were fantastic but this was our least favourite. Firstly we were not informed that we would need to hire our snorkelling gear so had to pay £10 each. So bring your own as they are not provided. The views before we get to beach were not spectacular just baren ground. The sea was cold but fine once we got in but that is to be expected at end of December. We were supposed to have a guide in water with us but he was too busy dealing with a couple who were very panicky and after waiting ages to get started me and my husband dicided to try and go out ourselves as my husband has snorkelled before. Views underwater was amassing with lots of fish. From there we stayed in our wet clothes and was driven to next sight of clear river and mangrove trees. From there we walked over to an amassing site of ground which had been split from volcanic eruption. And then had to go into the ice cold magic sea which was exilarating. Back in bus we were driven to another beach for more snorkelling but we just sunbathed and dried off instead as didn't want to be going back in dripping wet bathers as no where to change. Also unless you can leave your belongings with someone in your group to watch if they not going into sea don't take valuables with you as we had no choice but to leave everything on bus and had some money go missing.

Camel Ride & Bedouin Tea

This was first time on a camel and was a little scary as my camel kept lifting his leg up to scratch his head and I felt I was going to fall off but didn't. It was such fun and I really enjoyed it. You ride for half hr and at the end of it climb a mini mountain to the top to see the sunset but unfortunately we climbed up too late and missed it. Climbing the mountain is tiring and I don't think suitable for people with walking difficulty. We finished our trip with tea with the bedouin and an attempt to roll out their bread which they cooked and let you have a piece. Would have been nice if we could have ridden the camel back instead of going on bus. Ps take some small change for tipping your camel leader who has to walk with your camel.

Snorkeling Trip Ras Mohamed or Tiran Island

My boyfriend and I booked 5 trips with Sharm Excursion and all went really well and were pretty much as expected. This trip was very relaxing, though unfortunately for us the day was a bit windier and cloudier than would have been ideal. However, the water wasn't too cold, even in December, and we saw some really big and nice looking reefs. We didn't see anything too interesting in terms of sea life compared to what we had already seen snorkeling at our hotel, but this may just have been the day we went. I had never snorkeled before coming to Egypt, and when I jumped in at our first stop I freaked out a bit, but the professional snorkeling guide we had helped me out and let me hold onto a life preserver ring as we joined the group in the water so that I didn't miss the experience. I held on to the preserver until I had gained the confidence to go out on my own, so don't worry if you're scared! The people take care of you. Overall, it was a nice, relaxing trip!

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

We went to Cairo by plane. Excellent value, cheaper than competitors.
Our guide Will was just the best, we really like him! He was our walking encyclopedia for Egypt, very informative and clearly spoken.
Tour was a long day but was paced well enough to keep us going and I believe it covers enough to see all the main sites and the real Cairo.
Museum, boat trip down the Nile to restaurant for lunch, Papyrus shop, Pyramids with an option to go down inside one for free, Sphinx, Tour quiz and finally the Perfumery.
We were shown around each place and then given time to wonder around by ourselves if we wanted to. We never felt like we were rushed for time. Throughout the day our comfort was paramount and we had plenty of toilet breaks, an air conditioned bus and drink breaks and we also even a really nice treat; Will bought ice creams for all of us! Thanks Will xxx
Generally the trip was briliiant and definitely the highlight of our holiday.
Will was amazing and made the experince as perfect as could be.
We would most definitely recommend this Sharm Excursions to anyone.
Once in a lifetime experience and well worth it!! Thank you!!

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

WOW, can I just say first of all a massive thank you to Sharm Excursions, in particular our tour rep Abdol who was truly fantastic.
My boyfriend and I had the most fantastic memorable day and it is all thanks to you. I cannot praise or thank Sharm Excursions enough. They put a lot of hard work into what they do and it certainly shows.
Cairo is an amazing place and a complete must-see and I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Egypt.
As per the website instructions, you pay a small 10% deposit when you book, then you meet one of the reps and pay the rest out there. You receive your receipt and full details of the day and pick-up times etc. The trip is very well organised and planned and you have nothing to worry about other than making sure, and you seriously must make sure you have with you some suncream, a hat and/or sunglasses with you because when you are at the Pyramids, the sun is beating down and it is tough. Abdol made sure we all kept hydrated and actually right before our stop at the Pyramids he went out and fetched us all a cold bottle of water each despite us all protesting we were fine! (Just shows how stubborn us Brits are).
I really can't say enough about how brilliant our tour guide was. Abdol was so passionate and informative, he knows so much history and there isn't anything he couldn't answer. Abdol also looked after us very well and we felt so safe and secure during this day out. I am so glad we booked up with Sharm Excursions. You receive a top class service at a discounted price, we were also in a small group of 8 so you really feel you are receiving a personalised service.
At the end of the excursion we found out from Mohammed and the team that there had been some "trouble" in Cairo which was splashed all over British TV. You will find in interesting to note we did not see one bit of trouble in Cairo during the whole day so it just shows how the media works in our country and it is embarrassing. Please do not be put off visiting this wonderful place, Egyptians love their tourists and wouldn't put us in danger.
Finally, I just want to say a massive thank you to Sharm Excursions. We cannot wait to come back to Egypt and will definitely be planning further excursions with this operator.
Thank you.

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

We did the Cairo trip by Plane on 11th September and would highly recommend Sharm Excursions and the trip to others. It was a must and fantastic trip if you are visiting Egypt. We booked with Sharm 4 days before we went and paid £135 each, when we arrived in Egypt our Thomson rep wanted £165 each for the same trip. So definately book before you go. The Thomson tours we later witnessed had around 30 people in them compared to our cosy group of 4.
The Sharm rep met us in our hotel lobby at the time he said he would to take the rest of the payment and to give us our receipt. We were picked up around 04:30 in the morning and taken to Cairo airport. We did a bit of waiting around but overall it was a smooth process. The flight to Cairo took just under an hour and another hour on the air conditioned bus from Cairo airport to the Egyptian Museum.
Our tour guide had very good English and was happy to answer any question we had which being in such a small group we were able to ask as many as we wanted.
After the museum we headed on a Nile Cruise (100e£)upto the restaurant which I wouldnt call 5* but was an open buffet (drinks not included) and was perfectly good enough for lunch. After lunch we took the bus again down to the Pyramid site but first we stopped off at the Papaya Factory, this was a waste of time I felt but thats probably becuase I knew I had no intention of purchasing anything.
Finally, we made it to the Pyramid site and I must say, scorching heat and annoying local tat sellers aside, was absolutely amazing. The guide was brilliant here, she was patient whilst we took our photos and offered and was happy to take as many for us as we wanted. We saw all three Pyramids and got to take a horse and cart ride (100 e£) to a certain spot where we got to get some breath taking shots. Then we got to go inside the smaller of the 3 pyramids. I must say, if you are claustrophobic dont do it. Im asthmatic and had to take my pump twice becuase there is no air inside but as youre probably only going to do it once I would say its worth going inside. There isnt anything inside the tomb but its worth it but be prepared to sweat like hell and make sure you have plenty of water - YOU WILL NEED IT! Lastly, we went to the Sphinx, this was rammed with people but truely amazing to see.
Overall the day was truely memorable and I cannot fault Sharm Excursions for their organisation, knowledge and overall service. I would say to bear in mind the following things: first, you will need lots of water for the day becuase it is so tiring and hot. Second, take plenty of money with you. There are lots of little extras that I didnt consider prior that I would like to have known and that was the tipping and the extras like the Nile Cruise and the Horse and Cart. Also, whether you take the H&C or a camel or horse, the owners WILL want tipping and they arent shy in pushing for more.
Enjoy, its def worth doing.

Luxor by Plane from Sharm One Day Trip - Excursion

We booked 4 trips with sharm excusrsions paying just 10% deposit & the balance on arrival. I found them very friendly, well organised and professional. Our guides were very knowledgeable and frienly and took great care of us throughout the trips, a BIG thank you to "H", Mohay(my family),Muhammed & everyone whose names I forget, Our holiday in Egypt was awesome, the trips were something else, this place has definately got the WOW factor, the Pyramids in Cairo, the Valley of the Kings and the Karnak Temple in Luxor are absolutely breath taking, " how did they do that?" We will never know, one thing I do know is they are spell binding as they stand today, one can only imagine their true beauty and splendour in their heyday.
Our other two trips took us into the desert with a camel ride & Bedoin tea, a great experience, but the best fun I've had in years was the quad bikes, FANTASTIC, loved every second and still talking about it.
I would recommend this site to anyone who is looking to book trips during their stay in Egypt not only will you be well looked after you will pay a lot less with these guys than you will with your rep.

Cairo Tour by Bus from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

The pick up was slightly late and in a small bus with cramped seats and dodgy suspension. We were given no explanation that we were being taken to a central location to move onto a LARGE COMFORTABLE AIR CONDITIONED COACH. This, then had temporary failure of air conditioning due to low water levels. Despite that and being charged for the toilet when we stopped it was a GREAT DAY with pretty good guides who kept us safe, well informed and were very attentive. A trip on the nile was an extra treat at minimal cost. Thoroughly glad we made the trip and lucky we slept on route. If you do not travel well on coaches it is a long journey (6hrs each way) but great to see Egypt life by night and city life by day ! Be prepared for the baking sun out in the desert though !

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

Having waited a lifetime to visit the Pyramids, it was still a bit nervewracking to book the trip online, but having read all the reviews on the Sharm Excursions website, book it we did with a bit more confidence. Well we needn't have worried. As arranged, we were met by Mustafa to pay the balance and pick up our tickets. The trip itself was fantastic, we were looked after right from being picked up from our hotel to being dropped back later.
A short plane flight to Cairo, we were met by Will, who is.... by the way..... A LEGEND! We love Will. His English is very good, his knowledge boundless and wrap this up with his passion for his job and his mischevious sense of humour …..a fantastic day was under way.
En route to the Museum he pointed out places of interest, gave us information injected with humour making it all fascinating. The Museum was mindblowing (only if you are into that sort of thing of course) and its a shame we didn't have more time, there is so much to see. Be aware that your cameras are taken off you AFTER you have been round the grounds and but BEFORE you go in as photography is strictly forbidden in the building. You will get them back don't worry. We had a guided tour for the first hour and then free time for the second. It was just as well really because you wouldnt know where to start if left to your own devices. To go in the Mummy Room is a further £10 each but on the second floor there is a mummy you can see for nothing so its a preferential option that we did not take. There was no time to be honest.
We then had the option to go on a boat trip along the Nile for apprx £10 each. It was quite a pleasant change from the manic streets and traffic of Cairo. I will never again complain about my partner's driving !!! You do not have to take this option.... you can remain on the minibus and meet up for lunch which is included and very pleasant and …...plenty of it as well. Drinks are not included but are cheap enough.
Its then on to the Papyrus Institute for a demo on how the paper is made, this lasts approx 10-15 mins followed by a chance to shop for any papyrus gifts. You get a view of the top of a pyramid from here as well.
Then its on to the Pyramids and Sphinx – AWESOME !!!!! AND it was not too busy with tourists or the peddlars that we had been warned about. The optional camel ride/horse and cart/ horse ride to a particular point on a nearby hill, is well worth the £8 each to get a view of the 9 Pyramids and Sphinx.
You are able to go in the Pyramids. Our guide advised us not to bother paying to go in the great temple but to take advantage of the free admission into the smaller one. Again photography is not really permitted but if you slip the guard a tip, he lets it go. I personally did not go down into the pyramid because I suffer from claustophobia.
From the Pyramids we went down the hill a bit to the Sphinx, again an awesome sight. There were slightly more tourists here and more peddlars but nowhere near as bad as we were expecting and this made our visit even more enjoyable. Any hassle was soon stopped with the appearance of our guides who just seemed to know when you needed them. Have I told you how FANTASTIC they are by the way ? Well they are !!!
From the Sphinx we went to the Perfume Factory. Anyone who has been to Egypt before will have, no doubt, have their stories to tell about the Perfume Shops. We were tempted to give this a miss, but it was a totally different experience and I am glad I changed my mind at the last minute. There was a glass blowing demostration which was fascinating to watch and 'the spiel' about the perfumes was much more interesting and informative than before. Of course, they want you to buy but at no time did we feel hassled or pressured into buying anything at all.
We were dropped at Cairo airport by Will and met at the other end to be dropped off at our individual hotels. It was a very long and tiring day but SO VERY much worth it. And did I mention the guides are FABULOUS? They are passionate, attentive, informative, protective, and fun. They really made our trip better than we expected. Big thanks to you all...... I am still buzzing from this trip.

In General a good trip, well organised.
The tour guide was incredibly knowledgable about Egypt.
Downside was the amount of rubbish around cario and the pyraimds. Also the continuing hassle from the souvenir sellers. And everyone, but everyone wanting a tip (asking for a tip as well).
its too much...........

Cairo Tour by Bus from Sharm 2 Day Excursion

The journey in the coach was tiring, difficult to get to sleep with hindsight maybe flying would have been better. The tour guide showed us and explained in great detail what we were looking at.Extremely helpful in the Egyptian museum as there were too many exhibits to see and not know what they were. The guides explanations not only of the things we were seeing but also about Egyptian life both in the past and current was superb.Everything was as we expected.Glad we done the two day trip as there was a lot crammed into the first day.

Quad Biking in Sharm Desert

A great way to spend an afternoon. My girlfriend was a bit apprehensive about driving but the quads are very easy to control and very soon she was trying to race past people and go as fast as she could, which will get you a sloq down warning.

well what can i say...what an amazing holiday in egypt! We have have not long been back from the best ten days of our life! :) my partner booked for us both to go online before we went for my 21st birthday present, and we we had an amazing(1/9/2011). We were slightly apprehensive about handing the money over to someone we only just met in our hotel before the trip but everything was fine. there was a slight hiccup with our flight but mohammed and abdul couldnt do enough to help us out. We started the day by going to the egyptian museum which home tuttankamuns amazing treasures, we were then given the choice to take our bus or a small boat on the river nile to where we were having lunch I reccommend going on the boat you get to see more of cairo and abdul gives you lots more information about the city. After Lunch we headed to the pyramids/sphinx and they were fantastic although we were told with all the political stuff going on there, there would be no police at the pyramids which gives the locals the perfect oppurtunity to hassle you to buy things or beg for money and some of them can be quite intimidating, our group was lovely and if you can all look out for each other its great, don't give your camera to ANYONE at the pyramids and just walk away from thos trying to hassle you for money. Abdul then took us to his uncles flower essence shop, they are such a lovely family, his uncle was kind enough to give us free drinks and smell all the different scents and they can match fragrances that you may buy home and they are kinder to your skin as they dont add the alcohol in them like the big perfume companys do and the smell also lasts alot longer, we bought a bottle of pure poison and daisy and im really pleased with them, also no pressure to buy anything at all. The papyrus factory was the last stop, interesting when they show you how its made but you do feel pressure to buy from the shop keepers that follow you around and we found it cheaper to buy real papyrus from sharm. A big thankyou to abdul for an amazing day!!! We also booked rhino safari with sharm excursions over the phone in the hotel and what another fab experience, we have saved alot of money booking through sharm excursions, the reps in the hotel rip you off! We are planning to return to sharm and will definately book transfers and excursions through these guys! Thankyou!

What can we say, what fantastic value for money and the best decision we made to go with Sharm Excursions. Like a lot of your other reviewers we were worried about booking online. So we waited until we were at the resort hotel. Our hotel wanted £75 to do the same trip and heavily advised us not to go with an outside agency. They made us feel uneasy even more by saying that other firms were not legal and safe. But the difference in price and the feedback on here made us think again and we booked it.
From first booking our trip, everything was very professional and all the staff were very helpful and reassuring. I will say we were a little uneasy meeting a rep from Sharm Excursions outside the gate of our hotel in the back of a taxi to exchange money and receive our receipt/ticket. Mustapha was a few minutes late, but apologised for this. He reassured us that all was okay and not to worry. As a Mum, I did worry about Cairo with all the recent troubles that had been there, but Mustapha assured us that all would be fine and the government would not allow trips to Cairo if they didn't feel it was safe. Tourism is too important to them.
We were picked up by coach at 1.25am from our hotel and had a lovely clean coach, air conditioned with reclining seats. Water was provided at each stop. Ramadam looked after us all day so well, explained everything to us and again reassured us that we would have the most wonderful experience. When we reached Cairo we were met by Will our English speaking guide - what a lovely man, full of knowledge, tips and information. We felt he got it just right, did not blind us too much with history, just enough and and also allowing us time to take in our surroundings. To see Cairo, Pyramids, Sphinx, Lunch out at the Nile Lily which was superb - was just exceptional value for money. We would highly recommend them and if/when we come back to Sharm we will use them again.

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

We'd read a lot of reviews about Sharm Excursions and decided to book to go to Cairo (day trip with plane) rather than book through our travel agent. We were told that a member of the Sharm Excursions staff would meet us at our hotel to pick up our trip money, we weren't actually told when they would turn up but they appeared on our second morning which was fine.
We were picked up really early by a mini bus and taken to the airport after picking a few more people up - we were briefly told what to do (this could have been explained a bit better as the guy's English wasn't amazing and we were all left a bit confused for a while! The staff don't come with you on the plane but you're dropped at departures and picked up the other end) Anyway, we all worked it out eventually and boarded a plane to Cairo, arriving around 8am.
We were picked up by a mini bus and joined with another 4 people so there were 6 of us together all day, no problems at all and immediately taken to the Egyptian Museum. We had to wait for a bit as our plane was early and the Museum didn't open for a while. Our guide showed us around the Museum which we were quite greatful for as it's not like a British Museum at all. In fact, part of it looks like it's still a store room and it's quite disorganised. Still, we saw some amazing artifacts and went to the Tutankhamun gold exhibition which was fab. We were left to look round by ourselves for a while but I'm pleased we were shown round for most of it as it was very busy and I don't think we would have bothered to look at some things as we wouldn't have been sure what we were looking at!
After the museum we were taken to the River Nile - if you wanted to take a boat to the next stop you had to pay an additional 100Egyptian pounds which we thought was a bit cheeky but well worth it. We took the boat to a restaurant which was at a 5* hotel. Food was amazing, and much needed by that time!
After lunch, we got back on the mini bus and were taken to a Papyrus museum. It was quite interesting and we all purchased something.
Then....we got our first sight of the Pyramids - we drove up a huge hill to a viewing platform where you look down on them and can take photos. This was probably actually the worst part of the trip. The pyramids themselves were breath-taking, but whilst you're trying to take your photos and enjoy the view you are constantly approached and hassled by the locals trying to sell you things. We'd been worn that it can be quite bad but nothing can prepare you for just how bad it is. I felt quite intimidated, despite being with my boyfriend and the rest of the group and tour guide. They will NOT take no for answer and even try and charge you money for offering to take a photo. Just say NO or if you do buy something or go for a camel ride, AGREE A PRICE FIRST! Our tour guide was very good and helped us as much as he good, at the end of the day the locals are trying to earn a living and probably make a fair bit from tourists.
After the viewing platform, we drove down the hill and walked round the Pyramids - again being hassled by the locals. We went inside one of the smaller ones which had a guy inside who was willing to show us around (after tipping) which was really good. We didn't bother to pay to go inside the Great Pyramid because we were just so hot! We then drove all the way down to the Sphynx and took lots more photos and walked around it. Amazing, and nothing can prepare you for just how fascinating it all is.
After the Pyramids we were taken (all very sleepy by this time) to a perfume & glass maker. (We were a bit disapointed that we didn't go the Cairo Bazaar but to be honest we were all knackered and very hot and weren't really in the mood to go shopping anyway) We were shown how they make ornate perfume bottles from scratch which was amazing and then also given a demonstration on some of the perfumes and scents that they offered. As much as I wanted to, I didn't buy anything because of the weight limits of our baggage going home but it was very tempting!!
We were then driven back to the airport all very weary and hot but having had an amazing experience. Our guide was absolutely fantastic, his English was amazing and he was incredibly knowledgeable.
I can't fault Sharm Excursions at all, they were amazing. Very helpful, friendly and all together provided a fantastic experience which truly rivals those provided by the travel agents. If you're considering doing a trip whilst in Sharm, definitely book with these guys but I would 100% do the plane trip and not the coach journey. We were knackered just after the day trip!
Thank you to Sharm Excursions for providing a trip which I will never ever forget - the Pyamids were just exceptional and I'm so glad that we booked through you.

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

Hi Sharm Excursions
We had a fantastic holiday in Egypt
We would like to take this opportunity to thank sharmexcursion, especially Mohamed and his team for making our trip unforgettable. The service provided was exceptional. They looked after us from the moment we got off the plane to delivering us to the hotel. We booked two excursions with them. First was a day trip to Cairo by plane which allowed us to spend more time in sightseeing. The guide was very knowledgeable and informative. The day was well planned by the sharmexcursion to get most out of a day in Cairo. We have visited the museum, Pyramids of giza, Sphnix, lunch on Nile, Egyptian art gallery and Egyptian perfume factory. We had enough time to spend at all the sights. The second excursion was a day trip to Abu galum which was an hour drive from sharm el shake, one of the best places for snorkelling. On the way to abu galum we visited the local people and got to know about their lifestyle. Camel ride along the sea was wonderful, snorkelling was amazing.
Thank you Mohemad for making our trip very special. We have already recommended sharmexcursion to several friends who are likely to visit Egypt in next year. I can honestly say, sharmexcursion is the best tour operator in Egypt. Their prices are very reasonable and lot cheaper than other companies. We also recommend everyone planning to Egypt to try sharm excursion to make your trip very special. We look forward to coming back and next time we hope to visit Petra.

Luxor by Plane from Sharm One Day Trip - Excursion

We booked a trip with SharmExcursions and had a perfect time. Our guide, Yahia - or John as he liked to be called, was great... a really knowledgeable guy who showed us around at a great pace and was always full of stories. We had a great day and saw the sites of Luxor at a relaxed pace, which was needed as we were in nearly 49 degree heat. We would recommend taking a scarf to cover you neck and head, and it can be unbearable at times. The food for lunch was good, and in a good location. Highlights of the day were the obvious sites of Valley of Kings and the Temple, but Karnak was something special and the stop at Banana Island was amazing. The final part of the day was a tour on horse and cart around the city of Luxor, which is welll worth doing. Originally John said the price for the tour was was 120LE per person, but he managed to drop it down to 100LE per horse and cart. We would thoroughly recommend this, and if you managed to tour with John, you will find a very friendly knowledgeable guide.

Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor Tour from Sharm Three Days

Before arriving in Sharm, we had booked the three day private trip to Cairo, Alexandria and Luxor by plane. Mohammed, the tour operator, was fantastic in responding to any questions and requirements we had. Once a small deposit was paid, we were informed that a colleague would meet us at the hotel. The Rep was on time, and explained the program for all days clearly. We were collected from our hotel and driven to the airport. Once arriving in Cairo, we were met by our Tour Guide, Maya. She was again fantastic, very knowledgeable, considerate, friendly. She explained everything clearly, and left us no room to ask her any questions. We visited the Pyramids, Sphinx, Egyptian Museum, Muhammed Ali Mosque, Perfume Shop, A Papyrus Institute and had a lovely ride on a felucca to have lunch. The hotel arranged for us in Cairo was fantastic, with a beautiful view of the pyramid. Our second day was in Alexandria, again with Maya. Here, we visited the Catacombs of Al-Shukafa, Pompey's Pillar and the Library, with lunch, again in a beautiful restaurant towards the Mediterranean Sea. We then flew out to Luxor, and met our Tour Guide, Hamada. Again, the hotel was lovely. Our day in Luxor started with a hot air balloon ride over Westbank, which was marvellous, We visited the Factory of Statute, Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, felucca ride for lunch and the Karnak Temple. We had a slight problem with the tour guide's attitude, however, once we called and spoke to Mohammed, he was very considerate and arranged other attractions for us, to try and make our day more enjoyable. He was successful...lol...!!
These three days with sharmexcursions were so fantastic, that once we arrived back in Sharm, we also booked the Crocodile and Snake Show, Glass Boat and Alif Leila Wa Leila (1001 Nights Show), with the Rep being Mahmoud.
Sharmexcursions is a very well organised company. All transfers in vehicles were all fully air-conditioned. Time-keeping was great from their side at all times, and for all excursions, and all the staff we met were brilliant. They were friendly, helpful, and basically treated us like family, all going out of their way for us. If I was to ever visit Egypt again (which is more than likely), I would definitely book our excursions with them, as well as, highly recommend this company to all. I can honestly say, sharmexcursions is the best tour agency in Egypt. Their prices are very reasonable and a lot cheaper than other companies.
A great Thank You to Mohammed, Mahmoud, and Maya for making our trip most memorable and amazing.

Cairo Tour by Bus from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

This trip to Cairo by bus is well worth it even though it’s a long journey.
We booked it from home about 3 weeks before we went, paid a small deposit. Mohamed is very good, returned emails etc very quickly and professionally. When we got to our hotel we met with one of his reps the next morning as arranged and paid the balance.
He explained all about the trip. The trip on the coach is a long journey but time seemed to go quicker than expected also if you can sleep it helps. Cairo was amazing, very busy and an eye opener.
The pyramids were awe inspiring, amazing! We also got to see the Sphinx, museum, papyrus shop, perfume shop and a meal on a boat on the Nile... this trip was worth every penny. The tour guide was very good and knowledgeable. I will be using this company again in the future, excellent.

Great job , guys! We just returned from our trip to Sharm el Sheikh and it was absolutely super! I must confess that at the beginning we had our doubts regarding the trips and the security of these new adventures (for us, first time to Egypt), but I can really confirm that we had no worry during our holiday. The trip to Cairo, managed by Abdo and Hesham was the best ever, the Pyramids are fantastic, never seen something like this before. Abdu was absolutely sensational, told us a lot about Egypt's history, about the pharaohs and mummification, pyramids, kings and wars, has captured the attention throughout the entire walk to museum with extraordinary insights into Egyptian life. One well prepared guide as he gained our confidence instantly.
We entered inside the Pyramids also, challenged experience for all of us. The climbing through the Canyon could never be done without the help of Hesham, he did such a great job in ambitioning all of us to go till the end of the challenge. It was a little difficult for some of us but I believe that at the end we all had that feeling of satisfaction. We lived some moments when we did worry if we were able go all the way, but with the help of the Bedouin (sorry but don’t know his name ) and Hesham we succeeded. It was a super adventure and it was worth the effort.
Bedouin world was marvel for us, we were very curious about their lifestyle, they were very hospitable and we felt very well there. Belly dancing girls and little party after relaxed us. Tea was great! Food was super! And ride camels ... wow! We have only words of praise.
You have organized the most beautiful trip of our lives, we met another world, civilization and was very nice.
So, we would like to thank you in this way for this wonderful experience and hope that we will met again. We welcome you in Bucharest, if you ever decide, Hesham you are our hero and we thank you very much. We loved you all very much and we are waiting you in Bucharest to see our world. You'll enjoy it, the weather is cooler here :)), No dessert here! :)).
Thank you. Hope will met again!

Crocodile & Snake Show
I thought that this trip was horrible. The first part was fine when a man was performing with cobras but when 2 chinese men started beating the crocodiles it turned my stomach. My children were very upset and we had to leave. I would not recommend this trip to anyone.
On the plus side our guide Hisham was fantastic.

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

Over Christmas 2009 I visited Sharm El Sheikh in a group and we took a day trip by plane to Cairo to visit the Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids at Giza.
We used Sharm Excursions who were excellent, we booked in advance on their website, with only a small deposit necessary. We were met at 0430!, taken to the airport, where we flew to Cairo, visiting the museum and pyramids and also taking in the obligatory trips to a "traditional" papyrus factory and perfume producer - these were informative and enjoyable (as long as its always understood that there should be no pressure to buy - which there wasn't). The pyramids and museum were amazing. I thought we might be rushed round the museum, which would have disappointed me, but were not, and had ample time to see the major exhibits.
I'm not usually a fan of trips, but this one was great value, particularly as getting into the museum is a nightmare (and is not well documented once inside), and there are lots of touts at the pyramids - no problem for us with our guide.
There was one small charge for a boat trip to our restaurant for lunch, which we knew about in advance, so no cost surprises. The lunch did its job, but nothing to write home about!
The organizer in Sharm and the guide in Cairo were absolutely superb: charming, efficient and extremely informative (I suspect the Cairo guide was ridiculously overqualified for his job). We had an absolutely great day, and as I'll be back in Egypt fairly frequently for work, I'll definitely be using this company again. Petra here I come!

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

We went with this company on the strength of good reviews from other travellers, and how right they were.
We were looked after very well, especially in Cairo by Lilly, she was a real tonic and was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The trip went like clockwork, yet there was no sense of urgency at all. There was time to sample some of Egypt's finest treasures and also time to relax. Sharm excursions make you feel safe and confident, which was important for us as it was our first time abroad. They handle the flights and timetable extremely efficiently.
We will certainly use Sharm Excursions on our holiday there this March and when we return in 2012 with our family.
Luxor was also a great day out, even if the guide was not so good at his scheduling and leaving a long empty slot before our return flight. However with very little encouragement, he was easily persuaded to arrange an extra trip up the Nile to Banana Island. Very hot there in June.
The Coloured Canyon is also spectacular. In summer it is difficult to pick out the true colours within the rocks, but the mountains and canyons are awesome nevertheless. Word of warning though, avoid the very hot summer months unless you are very fit, and take something soft to sit on ...... the canyon floor is very very very bumpy and hard on the coccyx, and it can reach 50 degrees and more there.
To summarise, if you want a real Egyption experience (with a rew little touristy bits included of course) then we would definitely recommend Sharm Excursions.

I have just returned from Egypt – Sharm El Sheikh yesterday. I booked most of my excursions with Sharm Excursions.com and am very impressed with the quality of service received. Mohamed Mahdy provided me and my sisters with a truly remarkable experience through the excursions and through his team of professional and friendly tour guides – Zizo, Abdul, Mohamed Badawy and Mido. Each excursion provided exactly as promised and advertised on the website.
Abdul was our tour guide in Cairo on Saturday 30th Jan 2010, he was really informative and a great photographer. He took wonderful pictures for everyone when we visited the Pyramids and the Sphinx. Oh and a great dancer too. He also has a very good sense of humour and a wicked laugh. I can still hear his laughter in my head.
Mohamed Badawy was our tour guide for the camel ride, Bedouin dinner and star gazing excursion on Friday 29th Jan 2010. He made us feel very welcome and made us laugh though-out this excursion. I asked him many questions which he answered. He made us feel involved in this excursion, especially when cooking the bread.
Mido who was our main tour guide in the past week, was extremely helpful, kind and friendly. He helped us get our visa’s and upon cancellation of the dive, due to weather conditions, he took us to Old Sharm. He has been truly remarkable, providing us with great hospitality through-out the past week - Shukran Mido.
This has been my first holiday and it was perfect. Mohamed Mahdy made sure that everything ran smoothly without problems, from the beginning of each excursion until the very end. In fact, he was in touch with me via email before I had actually booked any excursions and after my booking, dealing with my questions, concerns and queries not only about the excursions, but about Egypt in general in a timely manner. I am really happy that I booked with Sharm Excursions and have absolutely no regrets. Sharm Excursions have satisfied and pleased me with their services. I would highly recommend Sharm Excursions and would definitely book again with them in the future.
A big thank-you to Mohamed Mahdy and his team – Zizo, Abdul, Mohamed Badawy and specially to Mido. It all seems like a magnificent, magical dream. Stay in touch and best wishes.

Just to say a big thank you to Mohammed and his team for helping to make our holiday fantastic. We booked trips to Cairo by plane, personal tour and the Quadbiking Safari.
At all times we felt safe, we hit a few problems when flying in and had severe delays, this was no problem as Mohamed immediately re-organised our trips for us to more suitable days and times.
The trips are very well organised and smooth running, the team at Sharm Excursions are all very confident, knowledgeable, friendly and professional.
The Cairo trip was great and the Quad bikes were fabulous fun, we enjoyed so much, nothing was too much trouble, after the storm and problems flying to Egypt it even felt as though Mohammed had organised the lovely weather for us, lol !
Prices with Sharm Excursions are lower than with Holiday Companies and, from talking to people who had been on trips that way, it felt as though we had had the far better deal and and fabulous experience.
So, once again big thanks to a great team of people, Medo, Maya, Issam, Zizo, Mahmoud, Mohammed who made our stay so enjoyable.
Would not hesitate to recommend you.

The problem with staying in an all inclusive hotel, is that there is a certain reluctance to leave the bar at the end of the night. We had lost count of the number of vodka shots that had followed cocktails, but we had some vague recollection of going to bed at one in the morning and getting up at four in the morning, to be ready for this trip. So yeah, blurry eyed and totally hanging, we waited for the bus to take us to the airport. The bus was late and we had all the horrible thoughts that we had been tucked up like a pair of very English kippers. fear not, the bus finally picked us up and after a lot of faffing about trying to pick up a couple of Germans, who refused to get out of their pits, we finally made our way to the airport.
An hour later and we are dumped out in Cairo airport. There was a vague instruction to meet our local guide somewhere, but that was lost in translation, or vodka addled ears, and we found that our local guide was nowhere to be seen. Panic set in and the horrible feeling that it had all gone wrong was setting in.
Someone pointed us to the exit and we sort of shuffled along towards what can only be described as Wesley Snipes in Blade. This guy was standing there with a long leather jacket on, designer everything, including the shades.
It was a case of, "Oh my God, are we about to give ourselves up to the Cairo Mafia????"
As it happened, the guy was pure salt of the earth, he warned us of the pitfalls and kept up very safe. He was also very funny and witty.
The Museum was OK, if a little tired.
The Nile boat trip was ace.
The Nile lunch was very good.
The papyrus shop was good.
The pyramids and sphinx were brilliant.
The perfume shop was ok but by then, so totally hanging...
The flight back to Sharm was later than expected, so hanging about for far too long at Cairo airport, which has nothing other than a small cafe.
All-in-all, a good company who had our interests at heart. It would have been so easy to let us find our own way and fall down at the money points, but they kept our money in our pockets for us.
If you want a five star service, use this company :o)

Cairo Tour by Bus from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

My cousin, sister and I went to Sharm from 15-22 October 2009 and booked three excursions with Sharm Excursion after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed. There are some things that we think that people should be aware off, like the climb to Mount Moses is REALLY a climb, make sure and eat properly the night before and have tablets for motion sickness for the three hour drive to Mount Moses from Sharm. Also a bit of stretching to exercise your legs before will be a great help and of course WATER for your climb to the top with something for breakfast cause you will need it :)Sadly we three did not make it to the top because my sister got sick and our guide left us which was rude and scary cause it was nearly three in the morning so we had to walk back down the mountain us three women alone with a flashlight but thank God the guys on the camels did not interfere with us but walked along side as they were more interested in getting us on the camels for a ride down the mountain. We made it to St. Catherine's Monestry at nine in the morning after waiting for five hours for the group to come down from the mountain. The advice we will give is that if you are not feeling well from the drive to Mount Moses or even if you start to feel unwell before your climb, let the guide you came with on the bus know right away cause chances are that you may not be able to make it to the top so instead of sitting in the cold for five hours like we did, let your guide know in advance because to climb Mount Moses you change guides there and the ones they change to are not as accomodating as the ones you come with on the bus.We enjoyed the vist to St. Catherine's and we chalked up the rest to 'an experience'. Our next excursion was to Cairo,we opted for the seven hour drive to Cairo :( If you can afford it PLEASE take the plane because although the bus is comfortable, you cannot sleep properly on it and we were up for the entire trip, they do have interim stops but you feel a bit sick on the trip. When you get to Cairo though you know that it is worth it to see the pyramids but then the drive back sends you down a couple of notches again and you are completely drained when you get back to your hotel. The Bedouin dinner and camel ride was the bomb and we thoroughly enjoyed it.Our overall view on Sharm Excursion is that it is SAFE,(cause we were worried being three women alone),affordable, professional and FUN.We were apprehensive to book online so we sent an email saying what excursions we were interested in on the Sharm Excursion website and they replied and we got a contact number and we called and asked if we could book when we got to Sharm as we were in the UK.They said yes and when we got to Sharm that same night we called and in about an hour Mido and Mahmoud came and we told them what excursions we were interested in,we paid for the trips got our receipts and the following day the bus was promptly at our hotel to pick us up.I must say that we were were impressed with their punctuality and professionalism. We highly recommend Sharm Excursion to future visitors to Egypt and a great big thank you to Mr. Mohammed (I hope I spelt the name correctly) your company really makes sightseeing fun and eases ones mind.Mido I hope you looked up Trinidad and Tobago on the internet and realize how far we came from to visit your country :)Take care and every continued success in the future.Lastly, make sure and get the Egyptian visa before you travel to Egypt cause if you wait till you get there, you spend quite a few hours in the airport waiting to get it.

We booked 3 trips with Sharm Excursions. We paid the deposit online and then on the first day of the holiday Mahmoud met us in the reception of the hotel so we could pay the balance. The first trip we did was the Coloured Canyon and Dahab.Everything was great, we were picked up on time, and our guides were very knowledgeable. The Canyon itself was hard work, especially for me as i had a bad headache from the sun.We took my 2 sons, aged 10 and 12 and they absolutely loved it, squeezing through small gaps and looking at all the different patterns in the rock, after the canyon we headed to Dahab where we stopped at a perfume factory, then off to lunch in a lovely restaurant right on the edge of the sea.
Next trip we did was Mount Sinai and St Catherines Monestary.Again we were picked up on time and headed off the St Catherines, once we got here our guide explained to us about the trip, we were given a mountain guide and a torch and then we made our way up the mountain. The children only managed to walk 1 km so me and them got ourselves camels to take us to the top.The scariest and funnest experience of my whole life, but the boys loved it. Next morning we met our guide at the bottom of the mountain and went off for breakfast in a local hotel, then back off to the monestary.
Once again, the guide was very imformative, telling us all about Moses and Mount Sinai. After this we headed off home.Trip back to sharm took about 3 hours.
Our last trip was meant to be to Serabit El Khadim, but our guide changed it for us and we did the Safari, Abu Galum and the Blue Hole.We had the bus to ourselves for this trip.Firstly we went into the dessert and had bedouin tea and looked at the rocks etc.
Next we headed of to Dahab, stopping of at a cafe/shop for refreshments.Once in Dahab, we were taken to hire some snorkelling equipment, then off to the beach to ride camels to the Blue hole.We had about an hour and a half to snorkel then had lunch in another great cafe called Titanic, food was once again fab and we all had a great time. After this we went to a papyrus shop and then it was back to Sharm again, very sadly because this was our last trip.
I would like to say a huge thankyou to Mahmoud, he is absolutely fantastic! He was brilliant with the children and very friendly, and aslo our driver on the last day (cant remember his name) he was great too.I will definately be using Sharm Excursions again and will be recommending them to my friends.
Thankyou for making our holiday a brilliant experience .Anna, Glenn, Jacob and Ryan Giggs :o)

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

Well what can i say, we havent long arrived back from sharm and i can honestly it was the best experience ever all thanks to mohamed and the guys at sharm excursions. we booked the crocodile show (review seperate) and cairo by plane. We paid in advance a few days prior to going to cairo which although seems strange hading over cash to someone in a car there is nothing to worry about. We were picked up promptly at 5am from our hotel and were driven to the airport, all of the 12 people on our mini bus were english which was good. Upon arriving at the airport we were given our tickets and qued like everyone else to get o the plane, to our surprise when somebody saw our tickets we were pulled from the crowd and put straight onto the plane (all good). We arrived in cairo 40mins later and heres where the excitement began. We were met by our guide abdul who was a youngish man that was educated to uni standard and spoke perfect english. Abdul gave us the breifing for the day as we travelled through cairo in our private mini bus. Our first stop was at the king tut museum which we spent a couple of hours in with abdul explaining everything we would like to know and talking to us about the history of the artefacts in there. When we finished in the museum we were given the choice to travel to the restaurant for lunch (inc in price) either by mini bus or by boat for an extra £10, everyone decided on boat and we were driven to a private boat on the nile. What an experience just our tour travelling down the nile seeing all the restaurants etc and abdul pointing out the sights such as the ex presidents house and the 7* four seasons hotel. On the way abdul asked us what we would like to eat and he would pre order it. When we arrived at the restaurant (on the nile) abdul the legend sorted a good table for all of us to sit together and we were shortly waited on with our meals. This was surprising as everyone else at the restaurant had the buffet that was on offer but not us we had a proper sit down meal relaxing rather than waiting just to dig into the rice like the other 100 people in the restaurant. After our meal we went to a papyrus gallery, not much to talk about there although there were some very good pics and we were shown how its made. Now the best bit, off to the geizer the pyramids!! We arrived at geizer to a magnificant sight of the 3 main pyramids. instantly we were taking photos then abdul told us to stand on this rock and pass him the camera, he showed us different poses to do to get those pics everyone wants like touching the tip of the pyramid and leaning on it. Abdul took the time to this for every person in our group and did all 5 poses for everyone. This was great as it seemed like everyone else there was trying to get these sort of photos but not to good yet abdul knew the perfect spot and they came out amazing!! (check the pics) he also told us what was a good deal or not and stopped us from being hassled by sellers in his own language (he wouldnt repeat it so you can imagine what he told them). We walked around and were looking at one of the pyramids when abdul asked us for our attention and began showing us some postcards from a lttle boy selling, there were 10 in all and had pics of the pyramids etc on. they were all laminated and in envelopes, abdul said how much do we think they are to which some people guessed maybe £6. Abdul replied no only 5 pound which would have been a good deal as they were high quaility but he meant 5le which was around 60p!! it was the boys lucky day as everyone in group snapped them up. Abdul asked if we wanted to go into one of the pyramids but we cant take our cameras in as it will damage the hyrogliphics. We went other to the pyramid with abdul and could see loads of other tour groups and guides (all new abdul) and on the entrance to the pyramid were tourist police to ensure no cameras were taken inside. Abdul asked us to wait for a sec whilst he and his mate (another tour guide) had a word with the police. a minute later abdul said you can go in now ad take you cameras! would you belive it that he had swung it for us to take photos inside the bloody pyramid!! he even said use the flash if you want dean. I didnt need telling twice and was straight in there past the police and taking photos. could only handle a minute inside though as no air at all and very cramped but none the less got to take pics inside whilst other people in their were wondering how we were allowed to, great!! After the pyramid is was onto the sphinx and with abdul we didnt even need our tickets. the sphnx was packed as you can imagine so was hard to get good pics, we were only there 5 mins when the police stared to blow their whistles as it was time to close the gates so everyone had to leave. We were pretty dissapointed which abdul could see so he said carry on taking photos, very hard with a police officer in your face telling you to leave so we started to go, at this point abdul told our group to wait and carry on taking photos and in not to nice a word forget the police lol very hard when they have machine guns. abdul went over to the police and another little word ensured the sphinx was closed to everyone except us!! yep he had sorted it for us to carryon taking the pics we wanted and the police just walked past us, one of them even helped us up to the ledge to take pics, abdul is seriously connected as everyone was outside the gets looking in wondering how we were still allowed in there, well it was down to abdul. we managed to get all the best pics again due to abdul knowing the right spot to make it look as though you were kissing the sphinx and one pic that some people may disagree with but me and him found it hilarious plus it was his idea (check the pic). after we finished there we were asked if we wanted to go to a perfume makers which was a friend of abduls so we did. the owner spoke better english than most of us and even cracked some irish jokes, he got us all a drink and let us smell all kinds of perfumes with the option to buy if we wanted, there was no hard sell unlike in naama bay. After we finished it was back to the airport after around 8pm so a long day was had. Needless to say we all tipped abdul although some people make me feel ashamed as they only tipped 20le about £2 which considering the work this man put in for us not to mention we all had chilled bottled water on the bus meant to be 2 bottles each but due to the heat it all got drunk so abdul bought another 30 bottles for us for free. we tipped 200le between me and my girlfriend which considering it was for him and the driver it was like us both tipping £5 to each of them which is nothing for the day and experience we had due to the one and only abdul. I cant praise this man enough as he made us have a trip of a lifetime so just to say thanks alot abdul your a star. just so you remember who we are we were the ones who tought you were steep and slope meant lol. sorry for the long winded review but felt it was worth while. thanks again to sharm excursions.

what a wonderful trip.
The day couldnt of gone better, we were picked up from our hotel on time, and taken to the airport where we took the short journey to Cairo.
The museum was full of artifax and loads of history, was a bit hot in there as no air con though.
Next we took a boat trip accross the Nile to have lunch, which was fantastic
Next up for us was a trip to the papyasis factory and purfume shop, where you can buy local products.
They really did save the best til last, with the Pyramids, what a view, absolutly amazing.
It is a long day (17 hours, but worth it) my advise is drink plenty of water as it was really hot when we viewed the pyramids.
If you get Abdul as your tour guide you are in for a great day, full of knowledge
Great day in all, thanks again, cant recommend this company enough.

We found Sharmexcursions through internet. The email information we received from Mohammed about the excursions was very accurate and correct, so we decided to make the booking. We were a little reluctant to have paid cash in advance to the representative that came to the hotel, as they have no office address, just a tel.number to contact. However, on Thursday, as agreed in the bookingconfirmation, they picked us up a 05:00 AM at our hotel in an airconditioned van to drive us to Sharm airport. Check-in without problems, charter flight in an old plane, but don't worry, you'll get there. We arrived well in Cairo early in the morning. Remember to keep your boarding pass of this flight because you need it also for the flight back, they forgot to tell us that when we left Sharm el Sheik! At Cairo airport, our super-top-fantastic guide Abdo was waiting for us. He accompanied us the whole day and gave us so much information about Egypt, its history, the city, the people and was a really fun guy too! We had an absolutely great day and were so happy to have booked with Sharm excursions: only small group of 10 people, good airconditioned van, safe driver, excellent guide, while other groups were travelling along in a bus of 40 persons. The museum was amazing, the pyramids and sphinx incredible. Optional boat trip on the Nile is highly recommended. Lunch alongside the Nile was nice too, additional stop at papyrus factory very interesting. This excursion to Cairo was truly a highlight of our holidays. It is a long day, you arrive back in Sharm at 22:00 PM, but really worth it. If to say something less positive, it was too bad that at our arrival back in Sharm airport we had to wait for a very long time for many other passengers arriving from different flight excursions, before they brought us back to our hotel. If we were to repeat this trip, at our return we would take a taxi from the airport to the hotel, because after such a long day with so many fantastic impressions, you don't want to wait to get back to your room, take a shower and have a drink to enjoy the fun you had the whole day in Cairo. But in total: very well recommended.

Back from sharm a week now and missing it already, such a memroble place made even more so by the day trip to cairo to see the pyramids, what an awsome sight. The day started off being picked up at our hotel at 6am ,short drive to the air port and a quick flight to Cairo, where we met Abdul our guide for the day, from there he took us to the museum where he knew absalutely everything about the antiquities and answered all our questions.Tut-Ankh-Amons burial mask is a sight to behold.
After the museum Abdul took us on a boat trip up the Nile(extra small charge)to a buffet resteraunt from there we went to the papyrus museum ,no hard sell and we bought 3 peices one with our family names on it, so cool. After that it was on to a perfume shop free refreshments and ice-cream .After that Abdul thought it would be a good time to see the pyramids he was spot on as it was suprisingly quiet 4.00pm ish,we were able to get great pictures and get inside the second pyramid with no queues,on our own,it was awsome. We could have stayed for the light show but my daughter who is 6 was starting to get tired and hungry, so Abdul took us to a favourite resteraunt of his, massive burgers and to many chips, very cheap. All in all it was won of the best days out that we have ever had and cant wait till next year to go to luxor.

We booked this excursion with Sharm Excursions after reading the positive reviews on this website and TripAdvisor. I was not disappointed. When we arrived in sharm, on our first morning we met Mahmoud in the lobby of our hotel who we gave the money for all 6 of our excursions and he gave us vouchers and explained to us what would happen on the excursions.
Cairo by plane - we were picked up early morning by minivan and taken to the airport, check in was very quick and hassle free, after the very short flight (40 mins with free refreshments) we arrived in Cairo where we were promptly met by the guide Abdel.
Firstly we went to the Egyptian Museum of antiques, which was very good because we got to see all the stuff that we wanted to see without seeing the things that would be of no interest to most. We were given a tour of the museum for about 80 mins then given approx 40 mins free time to explore.
A point to note, take water into the museum, because there is no air conditioning and a young lad that was on the tour with us almost collapsed because of the heat and humidity.
After this we went on a cruise up the river Nile (this is an optional extra, which costs 50LE, however it was worth it) to the restaurant, which was an open buffet restaurant where the food was nice.
After this Abdel told us it was better not to go to the pyramids straight away because it would be too busy and too hot as we were in the peak time of the day for the heat (12 - 3). He suggested that we go to the Papyrus institute first as it is air conditioned. We went there and watched how papyrus is made, which was very interesting and the papyrus on sale in the place was very reasonably priced, with no hard sell. We bought a couple of bits which cost about £20 each. There are numerous individuals selling fake papyrus around Cairo and Sharm so it was good to know that the stuff we bought there was genuine.
After this we went to the pyramids, which was excellent as there were very few other tourists there, so we pretty much had our free run of the place. We were only in a group of 8, which allowed for a far more intimate tour.
A special mention had to go to the excellent guide Abdel, who took time taking pictures with everybody's camera helping them get humorous memorable photos of the pyramids and the sphinx. He was a very funny, attentive and friendly guide and nothing was too much trouble for him. He also stopped several times to get us water because of the heat, which was very much appreciated.
After doing all of the touristy things at the pyramids etc, we went to an Egyptian perfume factory, where we were given a free soft drink and shown how Egyptian fragrances are made. Again there was no hard sell here.
After this we were taken back to the airport. Again a quick flight, then picked up at sharm airport and taken back to hotel.
An excellent but long day, well organised by sharm excursions and another mention to the guide who made the day special for everyone.
I booked 6 excursions with Sharm Excursions, these were: Cairo by Plane, Camel Ride, Quad Runner, Super Safari, Bedouin Dinner, and Sea Trip to Ras Mohamed. All of which were well organised and great value for money. Most were at least half the price we were offered by Thomas Cook.

My trip was organised at very short notice, (from Gatwick) before we flew out to Sharm, we left UK mobile nos on the e-mail we sent to Sharm Excursions from Gatwick Airport, and borded the flight, we did not know stepping on the flight if anyone there would meet us in Sharm for transfer to our hotel!!!! on swithing on our mobiles at Sharm Airport a reply was awaiting us from Mr Mohamad (senior), step outside the terminal and look for your names on a printed sheet for pickup, (young) Mohamad, who picked us up with a driver was excellent, we were worried about paying for trips in cash, Ciaro by plane, Quads, Glass bottomed boat and return transfer, However on time, every time Young Mohamed arrived to transport us to the various venues, the quads were the best trip we had, (go in the evening) highly recommended, The Pyramids were also exceptional, the Guide knew everything, he talked non stop about Egyptian culture, the contents of the Egyptian museum as the tour progressed, the Pyramids and surrounging statues, all from when he met us, until when the tour finished, all in all, you will do the same Cairo Trip here as you will with the other large tour operators Thompsons Cosmos etc, with one exception, your group will be much smaller, you travel in a well presented air conditioned comfortable minibus, and because your group is smaller, you will get the oppertunity to ask more questions and actually hear what your tour guide has to say, all tours to Ciaro visit the pyparus shops and the perfume factory ( ask your tour guide to do something else with you) this part of all the organised tours, no matter which compamy organise the tours, is nothing more than High pressure sales, after a long day in Ciaro, it's the last thing you need, im sure your guide will accomodate. OVERALL I WOULD RECOMMEND SHARM EXCURSIONS TO FRIENDS. thank you Mr Mohamad. PS: book on line, cheeper trip first for discount on all following trips

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

Based on other’s opinions on Tripadvisor we booked excursions with Sharm Excursions.
I don’t want to sound too sycophantic but what an excellent decision it was. We took the Cairo flight and do-it-all-in-a-day trip. We also took the snorkelling excursion to Ras Mohammed.
Cairo: a perfect day within the context of what it was. Mohamed, the proprietor, really is a local bag man, a Mr Fixit, of the first degree. When you are in a place that you do not know you need someone like this in your corner and I can’t recommend his services highly enough. His staff were knowledgeable, thorough, obliging, helpful and really made it their business to ensure that their clients/ guests got full value.
Our guide in Cairo was Lilly, a lovely girl who was very open and candid about all aspects of the day plus the realities of living in a modern Muslim country. I will not reveal all of her recommendations, that’s her business but she is a fund of useful tips and hints. We were in a group of seven, three of us, an American couple and another English couple. We were chauffeured round Cairo in a modern air conditioned mini bus, what a crazy compelling town! We spent as leisurely a day as it’s possible to do cramming some of the world’s most important heritage into a few hours and still finding time for a coffee at the museum and a chat with Lilly.
We did the things that we wanted to do, the Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza plus the Egyptian Museum in Cairo, we also visited an ‘official’ papyrus gallery/shop, had a great buffet lunch aboard a floating restaurant on the Nile and took a bonus felucca cruise on the Nile which is a great way to see Cairo. The Pyramids, Sphinx and museum are things that, if you get the opportunity, you have to experience so there can’t be a bad review of them unless written by a philistine! The other things were in the detail and it was handled superbly well, an exquisite day and worthy of recommendation to anyone. Truth be told a day is far too short to do justice to these things and we will return and take them in at a more leisurely pace; we were on a tight schedule and the trip was right for us on this occasion.
We also took an excursion to Ras Mohammed national park. The boat was fantastic, the lunch was great, the crew were friendly sea dogs and the tone was just right. There were eight of us in total, five snorkelling and three scuba diving and the trip kept an intimacy and informality that can easily be lost in a large group. At our first stop, there were three snorkelling opportunities, we were joined by a group of some twenty to thirty novices who all went in the water together, splashed around, sent any self respecting marine life scurrying off, shouted and whistled to one another and it seemed like watching the charge of the Light Brigade. We, on the other hand, were supervised with a light touch and left to our own devices which was great and allowed you to explore the reefs at your leisure. Clearly tourism is the main driver of the economy in that area and there were plenty of boats around, our captain was knowledgeable and steered us to locations that no one else was at which allows the more shy aquatic creatures to feel comfortable and offers the snorkeller or diver a more rewarding experience.
We would have liked to have taken more trips with Sharm Excursions but our itinerary was pretty rigid and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone thinking of booking excursions. I corresponded extensively with Mohammed via email beforehand and he was prompt and helpful with my questions and his replies were specific and useful. We spoke to other people who had been on excursions organised by holiday company reps and felt sorry for them and relieved for ourselves as they told us about their experiences being herded around and not being able to do what they wanted because of the impersonal nature of their tour. Needless to say their trips also cost significantly more (Cairo £160.00 pp with Sharm direct as opposed to £225.00 pp with a well known tour operator whose parent company just went bust, Jun 09, for example) than we paid for a much more personal service.

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

We travelled to Sharm el Sheikh in March 2009. We wanted to see Cairo and, after reading reviews on the internet, we booked with sharmexcursions.com for a one day trip by plane. It was an absolutely fantastic day. I was a little reluctant to book online but as the reviews were so good, and as the deposit was only £30.00 I didn't think we had too much to lose. I received a confirmation email which explained that Mohamed would come and collect the money from our hotel which he did. We had only just arrived and he took the time to talk to us about Egypt which was a nice touch.
The following day he collected us from our hotel in a minibus. There were 4 couples in total which was a nice number. He got us onto the plane (somehow we didn't have to queue like everyone else which was very good!) Almost as soon as we arrived at the airport we were on the plane which was good as it was very early in the morning and I wanted to sleep longer. However, we didn't get a chance as, after looking at the views for a little while, we had arrived. Our tour guide was there at the airport to meet us and we had an airconditioned mini bus and very nice driver waiting for us. Both of them spoke very good English.
We did everything that we were supposed to but the guide also gave us options of things we could do which was really good, for example, he asked us if we wanted to go on a boat on the nile- something that we didn't think we would have time to do. Those in the group who didn't want to do it got the minibus to the restaurant and the rest of us got the boat. We did get taken to a few shops, which is normal in Egypt. We went to a papyrus shop (where we watched papyrus being made- we didn't realise it was a shop at first because it was really interesting), a perfume factory (we'd cottoned on to the fact it was a shop but it was still really interesting to see how it's made) and an Egyption cotton shop. There was no pressure to buy and if you didn't want to go in, you didn't have to. I didn't feel like these were annoying as we got to see how papyrus and perfume were made.
I think the only down fall of the day was that it is very long (which it needs to be to fit it all into one day) so if you can, maybe do the two day excursion. We couldn't because we were only in Sharm for a week. If we had been there for two weeks we would have done the Luxor trip with sharmexcursions too as they were so good.
You can book excursions when you are out there but I liked the fact that we didn't have to worry about booking and it was a little cheaper than most of the other options.
If you are going to Sharm or Cairo you will have an absolutely wonderful holiday!

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

We travelled to Cairo by plane in April 2009 with Sharm Excursions and WOW what a trip! I was SO apprehensive about handing over nearly £1,000 in cash, IN ADVANCE, to a man I hadn't met previously,in our hotel lobby - and getting a tiny receipt in return - with a promise that the driver would collect us on the agreed date for our day trip to Cairo. Had Del Boy been in the vicinity he would have not hesitated to tell me I had been 'tucked up, right good an' proper!' BUT - how wrong can you be? The trip was everything it had promised to be. DOot to door minibus, rep at the airport to greet and guide us on to the next stage of the journey, another at Cairo, and a personal guide to accompany our party and another (total 8) throughout the day. The last part of the trip was a visit to a perfume factory, but our group asked if we could miss that part out, and our guide was happy to oblige. We were so pleased with this trip, we then booked the quad bikes - and were equally delighted with that one. Small tip though - book the cheaper trip first - you get 5% off subsequent ones.

Prior to our arrival to Sharm, I booked 4 trips with Mohamed. I kept in touch with the tour operator on a regular basis, and voiced some of my concerns regarding our trip to Jerusalem. Mohamed, quick as a flash, answered all of my questions, in a honest way. All that he described and promised was delivered. So thank you for a brilliant trip to Cairo, Jerusalem, Petra and Mount Sinai. Next time I return to wonderful Egypt, I shall use your services without the shadow of a doubt. Mohamed and his team, are a credit to Egyptian tourism, efficient, reliable and honest people.
MERCI CAMEL POUR TON AIDE!!

Cairo Tour by Plane from Sharm 1 Day Excursion

Fabulous trip. Be prepared for an early start! and a lot of walking! really enjoyed it, we got to cram in a spot of shopping in Cairo as well as the pyramids, sphinx, museum & paparys museum. Hint 1) do not get on the camels/horses at the back of the pyramids, as they took us behind a sand dune & split us up until we gave them english money. (which we finally got back after 8 women causing a scene!) and 2) dont buy the paparys in Cairo .. you will find much much cheaper in your local towns/markets, especially if you haggle.
Although, unforseeably, there was an accident in Cairo which caused traffic, and ultimately caused us to miss our flight back to Sharm. Mohammed & the airport staff were fantastic, & luckily, got us on the next flight back.
